Eastern Netball is the Regional Sports Organisation for netball reaching from Te Araroa at the top of the East Cape to Dannevirke in the South. We are one of 12 regions across the country that came into being in 1998. Our role in life is to achieve:

“more people, playing more netball, more often”
Whakanuia ake ngā;; tā;;ngata - te hā;;kinakina - te wā;; tā;;karo

Our core function in terms of netball pathways in our relationship with Netball New Zealand is to provide Representative Teams into the National Tournaments and Competitions. In 2008 Eastern will be represented by our under U19 team at the National Age Group Championships and our Plus Rehab Eastern Team (open/senior team).

In 2007 the U19 Team achieved their best ever result by making the top division and finishing 8th while the Plus Rehab Eastern Team finished 10th.

That said Eastern Netball Region is driven by increasing participation in our sport and then supporting the pathways for players, coaches, officials and all other volunteer roles to achieve the levels they desire.

In our region we have six Netball Centres: Gisborne, Wairoa, Napier, Hastings, Central Hawke's Bay and Dannevirke. Their core role is to provide facilities and competitions for the clubs and schools to play netball. In both Hastings and up the East Coast there are Junior Netball Centres who address the netball needs of children in a similar way to the Centres. The Centres also have a key role in the pathways and provide representative opportunities for specific age groups and for inter-Centre events.

Our Regional Office is staffed by:

Brendon Rope, Regional Manager
Robyn Stallard, Netball Development Coordinator
Beth Brady, Office Administrator

Regular Office Hours: Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
Robyn: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri
Beth: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs
If you call and we are unavailable please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We also have personnel who deliver various programmes:

• Jo McDowall,  special projects

• Charissa Wilson, High Performance Coordinator.

We are always looking for more skilled and experienced Deliverers/Facilitators. If you are interested contact Brendon CLICK HERE
